Bumblebee nail stamping

I never wear yellow nail polish on it's own, I usually only use a dot of it in a flower nail art so I decided to try out a yellow nail art. I decided to stamp it with black so I thought a bumblebee theme would be cute. I used Zoya Pippa for the yellow and Konad black stamping polish, also Bundle Monster plates BM-223 and BM-301.

Neon stamping nail art

I decided to use some neons while it's still summer. I used China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy as the base and stamped the hibiscus using Zoya Katy and Bundle Monster plate BM318. The purple is China Glaze Flying Dragon covered with a homemade glitter top coat.

Also, here is a star hibiscus in bloom in my own garden.

Genie Nails in memory of Robin Williams

I was shocked and saddened by the news of Robin Williams death a few days ago. One of my favorite Robin Williams character was Genie from Aladdin. I looked on Pinterest for some ideas and came across this post http://www.pinterest.com/pin/160581542938760631/. My husband helped me re-create this design by painting the face and lamp.

Leopard Print nails

I was getting my nails ready to paint and my husband asked if he could pick out the colors. I said sure and he brought me Zoya Normani and Chantal. I added Black Swan and made a cute leopard print mani.

Mother's Day mani

Here is the mani I wore for Mother's Day this year. It's a little messy looking because I did my nails really late last night and I was sleepy. This is China Glaze For Audrey.

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Here's a pic of me and my daughter today(bottom pic). The top pic was taken in 1995 when she was a baby.

Zoya Earth Day 2014 order

I was very excited to see my order from the Zoya Earth Day 2014 promo arrive so quickly. Zoya orders used to take weeks to arrive after ordering, especially after a huge promo but my last two Zoya orders have arrived within a week or so from when I placed my order. If you don't already know around Earth Day Zoya runs a promotion where their nail polish is half priced you just have to return or donate a like number of non Zoya nail polishes. I decided this year to pick up some jelly and Pixie Dust polishes that have been on my list wish for a while. I ordered 7 bottles and Zoya sent me a free 2oz bottle of their Remove Plus polish remover.

Here's what I picked out.
Left to Right-Paloma, Katherine, Vespa, Chyna, Dahlia, Vega and Cosmo

Here are some close up shots of the two jelly polishes Paloma and Katherine

Here are the three regular Pixie Dusts Vespa, Chyna and Dahlia

And finally the two Magical Pixie Dusts Vega and Cosmo (I already own Lux)

They sure do sparkle in the sun

My Husband Does My Nails

For my wedding anniversary last June my husband painted my nails. I know that sounds weird but let me explain. My husband likes to paint miniature models for a game called Warhammer 40K. He has developed a very good hand at painting tiny things so he decided to try out a nail art on my hands. I painted the background using Zoya Yummy. He used a combination of other Zoya colors (Ziv for the gold and Arizona for the orange) and acrylic paints to paint a koi pond on my nails.

The process took about 3 hours but it was so much fun and an experience I won't forget. Needless to say I didn't take this polish off for like two weeks.

You can see from this close up shot how Ziv makes a perfect goldfish.

My husband was so detailed the turtle has eyeballs.

We have a koi pond in our backyard which gave us the idea for this nail art.

My Seche Vite bubbled up in the perfect spot to look like a ripple in the water.

Yummy is another wonderful shy blue color. Look at how they match!

I think I'd like to make this an anniversary tradition. Look out for another Husband Does My Nails post in June!

Older nail art

Here are some of my older nail art designs. Most of these were ideas I got from Pinterest, You Tube or other beauty bloggers as I am not that creative...yet.

This was my first jelly sandwich manicure. I used Zoya Frida and Jacqueline for the water and flowers then on the accent nail I used an indie polish I purchased off Etsy. The brand is Rainbow Polish and the color is Fish Lagoon. I got this idea from another blogger which sadly I cannot find the post right now to give her credit. This picture is also the longest I have ever grown my natural nails.

Here is another recent manicure using Zoya Blu (my favorite color for a sky blue nail art).

Here's a fun Grinch nail art I copied from Cutepolish on YouTube. I used Zoya Tracie for the face. Over the black nails I used Dollish Polish Merry Christmas, Shi**er's Full!

I wanted to post a picture of my most recent nail art. The background color is Chantal by Zoya and the water decals are from Born Pretty Store.

Welcome to my blog

So I'm not sure if anybody will ever read this but let's give it a shot. I decided to start a blog to keep track of a few of my favorite things. At the moment I'm really into nail polish and nail art. Until just a few years ago I rarely did my nails because I was frustrated at how quickly my polish would chip or smear. Thanks to the recommendation of many you tube vloggers I discovered Seche Vite and the rest is history. I will be posting pictures of some of the nail art I've done on myself to keep track of my progress as I learn new skills.

A little background on me. My name is Jennifer. I am a 37 year old wife and mother from Florida. I enjoy gardening, scrapbooking, beadworking, nail polish and makeup. I also have 3 dogs and 3 cats who you may see pictures of from time to time.

Welcome to our little family. I hope you enjoy your stay!
